Mount Isa Planning Scheme

Andrews Town Planning (subcontracted to Harrison Grierson) is preparing the Planning Scheme for Mount Isa. This Planning Scheme is designed to manage growth within the primary urban and economic centre of North West Queensland.

The scheme is soon to be submitted for State Interest Review and is expected to be completed and commenced by December 2016.

Flinders Shire Planning Scheme

Andrews Town Planning (subcontracted to Harrison Grierson) is preparing the Planning Scheme for Flinders Shire Council. This Planning Scheme projects a vision for the Shire for economic development and population growth while preserving the quality of life the residents enjoy.

The scheme is in State Interest Review and is expected to be completed and commenced by August 2016.

Preliminary Approval under Section 2.4.2 of the Sustainable Planning Act – Abattoir

A preliminary approval supporting the development of an abattoir on Council owned land west of Hughenden. The approval includes specific codes to streamline the application process.

Flinders Shire Rural Subdivision Policy

A Planning Scheme Policy developed for the existing Flinders Shire Planning Scheme, as well as for inclusion in the draft new Planning Scheme. This policy outlines criteria where subdivision of Rural Zone land below 12,000 hectares may be considered suitable, in particular where it supports agricultural development.
